Sat, August 10 - Blues Eclectic w/ Live Music SMUT CITY JELLY ROLL SOCIETY. and Lesson
7:00PM All levels Blues lesson by Brenda Russell. Topic Two Step Sampler: Swing Walk & Country Blues traveling form of Blues originating from New Orleans marches, then walking right on into the Ballrooms of America. This dance has a playful 2nd Line aesthetic, and lots of room for play and individual expression. After two-stepping around the room we will spend some time with stationary dance movement and connection in two-step rhythms.
8:00PM Dance; Smut City Jelly Roll Society, a popular Portland band, will play two sets of swing and blues with DJ music at breaks.
Cost: Lesson & Dance: $25 to $20 sliding scale
Dance Only: $20 to $15 sliding sacle
